福岡県久留米市のロードサイドに建つオフィス・ショールームの移転・リノベーション。
事業主様は熊本・福岡・三重を拠点に地域に根ざして30年以上に渡り新築分譲住宅を提供されており、熊本の半導体工場開業に端を発する久留米エリアの将来性も見据え、久留米支店の移転を計画された。
新店舗では新たにショールームも併設し、優れた技術を持つ職人集団を擁し、土地・材料・保守へのこだわりを持つ川﨑ハウジング様の家づくりを体現する店舗が求められた。移転先として選定された旧医院は特徴的な曲線形状の外壁と重厚感のあるレンガ張りの外観が安心な家づくりを行う企業イメージとも合致したため、サイン追加のみの操作でファサードを極力シンプルに調整した。
ショールームにおいても外壁同材を用いて一体感を持たせ、既存建物の特徴を活かしながら丁寧に紐解き、改修範囲を限定しアップデートを行った。「既存壁を少し延長し視線を制御」「壁のズレを活かしアクセントとして強調」「段差となっている壁をシームレスに繋げる」といった新旧部分をなじませながら特徴を引出す操作により、シンプルながらも空間を特徴づける素材や展示物が活きるようまとめ、来訪するお客様や従業員様にとっても落ち着いて過ごせる店舗とした。

It is the renovation of an office building on the roadside in Kurume, Fukuoka.
The client, who has been in the New housing for-sale business for over 30 years and is based in Kumamoto, Fukuoka, and Mie, had an eye on the future potential of the Kurume area and planned to relocate the Kurume branch.
The new store also includes a new showroom, which was required to embody Kawasaki Housing's commitment to land, materials, and maintenance, particularly about its homes. The old clinic selected for the relocation had a distinctive curved-shaped exterior wall and a massive brick exterior. Since the exterior of this matched the corporate image of building houses for safe living, the facade was kept as simple as possible, with only the addition of a sign.
In the showroom, the same material as the exterior wall was used to create a sense of unity, and the renovation was limited in scope while taking advantage of the existing building features. The new building has a unique character in that the new and old parts are blended, "slightly extending the existing wall to control the line of sight," "utilizing the displacement of the wall to accentuate the wall," and "seamlessly connecting the stepped walls."
It allows the materials and exhibits that characterize the space to shine through while keeping it simple, making the store a relaxing place for visitors and employees alike.
